Welcome to White Swan Dance!

I am thrilled to finally make my "side hustle" a little more official. WSD is the conglomeration of all my dance-related activities under one roof. 

​

Dance entered my life at an early age - first through my mom's choreographed dances for our Indian community in Arizona, and then more formally through my Bharatanatyam guru, Asha Gopal. Both of these amazing women are responsible for instilling the love of dance in me. Alongside my sister, we proudly graduated from the Arathi School of Indian Dance in 2005.

I was exposed to modern, jazz, and hip-hop in high school, and Bollywood performances at local culture shows or weddings became monthly activities. Once in college, "UA Om Shanti" was founded by a group of us dancers. We competed from coast to coast, and the moments shared on (and off) the stage will forever be some of my favorite memories.

Post college, I moved to California and immersed myself into life as a PharmD resident and then an Inpatient Pharmacist. I took a break from dance, and quickly learned my mental health wouldn't allow a life without dance. I picked it up again in 2017, and haven't stopped since. 

 

In San Francisco, I had the honor of teaching a weekly dance class at two different dance studios for three years before switching to a workshop model in 2020. Apart from teaching, I am part of an amazing dance team called Duniya Dance & Drum, am constantly conceptualizing dance video collaborations, taking on wedding choreography, and teaching international dance workshops whenever possible during my travels.
